How Can We Travel Cheaper?

Hello everyone,

In this article, I will try to tell you how I planned a trip with a suitable budget. If you have any questions, you can contact me at any time via the e-mail address yarkin@gezginperest.com.

1- Plan your destination in advance.

You can plan a budget by planning your destination in advance and reading articles about it.

You can search for a facebook group of your destination first and then read reliable and ad-free blog posts on the internet. In addition, by reading the articles at this stage, you can travel more locally by staying away from touristic and money-only places.

2- Learn to Travel on Your Own.

By meeting the local people of the city or country you are going to and listening to their directions, you can visit more places and make them suitable. I especially use Couchsurfing and Showarround applications for this. If you do not know about these applications, you can read the paragraph below, if you do, you can skip that part :).

What is Couchsurfing : Couchsurfing was founded in 2004 by — — Casey Fenton—— Daniel Hoffer —— Sebastian Le Tuan — — Leonardo Bassani da Silveira — — as a small passion project. Passion projects are usually activities or initiatives that people decide to undertake in their spare time with the aim of gaining some benefit for themselves. An e-mail sent to a group of students in Iceland when they started the project gave rise to the idea that people anywhere would want to share their homes with strangers. Thus, it came to life.

August 21, 2017 Kiev, Ukraine (For the first time, I stayed at a host abroad, before that I always hosted people in my own home.)

Since its inception, Couchsurfing is now a global community of 14 million people in over 200,000 cities.

Showaround is a platform that connects travelers seeking unique travel experiences with local people who are ready to show them around their city. It’s also an easy way for locals to earn extra money. Locals are free to decide on their hourly rates, schedules, and tour durations by only accepting the offers that work best for them. I usually prefer to use this app when there’s a free guide available, but you can also become a guide for your city and earn money through this program.

3 – Discover Cheap Accommodations.

If you choose to stay in a paid accommodation, you can do some research to find the best deals. You can also stay for free through the Couchsurfing app I mentioned above or other alternative apps, but you can also opt for hostels, guesthouses, and other inexpensive options. One of the main reasons for traveling is to explore the place, and the comfort of your accommodation shouldn’t be a major concern.

4 – Choose Cheap Transportation

I’ve had the chance to travel with various means of transportation. I usually hitchhike for local transportation, but with the development of new social sharing apps, you can choose BlaBlaCar for travel. In addition, there are ways to travel cheaply by plane. You can follow campaigns and there are many Instagram accounts on this subject.

One of the best things about helping each other is that when you are in friendly communication with people, you can enjoy your travels even more and collect lasting memories. Even if you’re not open to new apps, life becomes more enjoyable as you take some risks.

As Saint Augustine said, “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
